You can relax, I went on an Alaskan cruise.
For many years now, a family vacation on a cruise to Alaska was planned but never panned out. It finally worked out for this summer and it did not disappoint. We took a southbound cruise from Whittier, AK to Vancouver B.C with stops in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. The weather started off cloudy with rain but by Thursday it was sunny and partly sunny. While the rain was a bit troublesome as that mixed with rain made the temperature feel a little extra cold, it did make for great pictures. My favorite picture though was in Skagway when we were traveling by bus up the mountain and heading towards the train stop to travel back down the mountain. In any case, I definitely recommend going on a cruise to Alaska. The safer weather bet would be to go during June or July with more risk and cold in August but any of these months is worth it. As far as stops go, all stops were awesome and will recommend the following at eat stop. In Skagway, we took the bug and train excursion but I liked the train part more as we traveled through the mountain and saw plenty of scenery, glaciers and passed a strong river. In Juneau, we took the Mendenhall Glacier tour where we got to walk on a glacier as well as go dog sledding and learn about the dogs in this camp. Finally, in Skagway we took the kayaking tour where we got to see a bald eagle family and their nest, a sea lion and a humpback whale. We did hear a lot about bears but only got to see them on the way to the port rather than in Alaska itself. All in all, I had a great time and recommend going.
